about
This was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Ball State University by the lovely Julie Wilkinson. It was written at 4am after Christmas festivities had finished taking place in the West household. As I stared at our beautiful tree, I experienced the bittersweet feelings that Christmas had come and gone. I pondered previous Christmases, and the feelings a child experiences as they consider the magic of Christmas.
lyrics
Christmas Again
by Ivory West
Cookies and Milk,
Stockings of Silk
Santa lands the roof,
I hear those reindeer hooves.
And I feel that sweet suspense,
Oh, I’m ready for Christmas again.
Bells silence quick,
I close tight my eyelids,
I cant wait for sweet daybreak,
But I know he knows I’m awake.
I must stay, like momma said,
“Tight tucked in,”
Oh, I’m ready for Christmas again.
Boxes and bows,
Inside who really knows,
Snowmen sing of silver and gold,
angels sing of an ancient story told:
Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem,
There was a star,
and three very wise men—
They brought him gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Oh, I’m ready for Christmas again.
Fa la la, la la.
Fa la la la la la.
Mm, fa la la, la la.
Fa, la la la la.
Coffee being poured,
My feet hit the cold, cold floor.
Brother, sister—it’s seven thirty-five.
Mother, father—open up your sweet eyes!
Santa has come and gone on winter wind,
Oh I’m ready for Christmas again.
Oh, I’m ready for Christmas again.
Oh, I’m ready for Christmas again.
